During a business trip from Austin to Dallas, I took my coworkers to Lucky Dog Saloon for a Nexus event. We met up with some of our Dallas-based fraternity brothers, and to our surprise, discovered that another pledge brother, who’s based in Atlanta, happened to be in town too. We wouldn’t have known if it weren’t for the event!
The craziest part? As we reminisced about old times, the name “Gator” came up—our fraternity brother’s sister with the not-so-common nickname. Ironically, one of my coworkers, whom I’ve known for almost a year, turned out to be her best friend from their days at the University of Tennessee. It was a mind-blowing, small-world moment that led to lots of laughs and funny stories.
Nexus has already helped me reconnect with old friends and uncover surprising new connections—even before fully launching. I’m looking forward to hosting a Nexus event to welcome “Gator” when she moves to Austin, so she can rediscover her network in a new city!

Last October, I headed to Norman, Oklahoma, with some old college friends for the South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Oklahoma Sooners game. Through my friends, I met some amazing new friends who I instantly clicked with. One of the highlights of the trip was dinner at Jones Assembly. Our OU friends recommended it and it did not miss! The food was phenomenal, and the vibes were great. They were disappointed when the Gamecocks dominated the sooners but they still had fun!
From the welcoming people of Norman to the great food and exciting game, this trip was everything a college football weekend should be and more. Can’t wait for the next one!

Nexus organized our analyst class reunion last July. It was an unforgettable evening on a rooftop in Tribeca with a great view of One World Trade Center and the Hudson. What made the night even more special was the mix of nostalgia and new connections. We reminisced about late nights in the office, laughed at old inside jokes, and shared our journeys since those analyst days. New connections were made seemlessly, as a few friends brought along colleagues and significant others, proving once again that shared experiences bring people together.
Here's to staying connected and making this a yearly tradition.
